Maps From A New Perspective
I just ran across the maps feature of Live Search (formerly MSN Search) (maps.live.com). It has the usual maps and aerial photos, but what’s exceptionally cool is the so-called “bird’s-eye view,” which for many areas gives very clear photos of the address you put in, taken from about 1000 feet in the air. You can change the orientation to look from the north, south, east, or west. In addition to loads of fun looking in people’s back yards, it can be helpful getting a visual sense of a driving destination. Needs IE or Firefox browser.
